Lyra was established in 2012 by a team of professionals with extensive experience in maritime navigation, committed to offering new and efficient alternatives for bulk cargo transportation in coastal and cross trade routes.
With authorization from EBN (Brazilian Navigation Company) granted on May 31, 2012, by the National Waterway Transportation Agency (Antaq), Lyra has been consistently active in both the distribution of commodities along the Brazilian coast and in the export/import of steel and grains.
We regularly invests in our Brazilian-flagged vessels, maintaining a highly qualified crew to always deliver the highest quality service.
What We Do
Maritime Navigation for Coastal and Cross Trade Routes
With an annual volume of approximately 2 million tons, Lyra transports around 90% of the raw salt distributed along the Brazilian coast from North to South, making it the primary carrier of this commodity. We are also actively involved in exporting Brazilian steel to Argentina and salt to the USA and Africa.
From South to North, we are strongly involved in importing raw materials from Argentina and Uruguay for the brewing markets (malt and barley), supplying wheat to the pasta and biscuit industries, as well as corn to the poultry industry in the Northeast of Brazil.
Commercial Agency and Representation for Foreign Shipowners
Lyra provides commercial and general agency services for foreign shipowners calling at Brazilian ports on cross trade voyages.
Support for sports and culture reflects Lyra’s social commitment to fostering a better future and creating incentives for new generations. Sponsorship of athletes Matheus Valentim in jiu-jitsu and Pedro Calado in surfing embodies this desire, as does support for the Andros International Festival, which takes place in Greece and is a stage for major artistic expressions.
